Hello friends!
I’m excited for the upcoming Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, featuring some of my favorite artists like John Mayer, Zac Brown Band, Lana del Rey, Lorde, and Bastille!
This summer, I’ve been inspired by the festival fashion I’ve seen everywhere, particularly flower crowns. So, I decided to create my own oversized flower crown for the event. To my delight, this DIY project turned out to be easy and rewarding!
Materials Needed:
- Various faux flowers
- Twine
- Floral wire
- Floral tape
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
Steps to Create Your Flower Crown:
- Create the Base:
Bundle several pieces of floral wire together and wrap them tightly with another piece of wire, leaving some excess at the end. - Form the Crown Shape:
Shape the wire bundle into a crown that fits your head and use the excess wire to secure the ends together. Wrap it well with floral tape for stability. - Attach Larger Flowers:
Begin adding your larger flowers, wrapping them to the base with floral wire. I wanted my crown to be sturdy, so I wrapped each flower multiple times. - Build Up the Crown:
Once the base of larger flowers is in place, I added smaller blooms and leaves. For the small flowers, I found it easiest to use hot glue, reinforcing the larger ones with glue as well to ensure durability. - Final Touches:
Keep layering with a mix of flowers and leaves until you achieve your desired look.
And voilà! My flower crown not only turned out beautifully but also resembles a petite wreath! I’m thrilled with how it turned out and can’t wait to share more styling pictures soon. Stay tuned!
